Eng. Capt. Refik Akdoğan curated maritime paintings and notes have started to be exhibited at the İTÜ Maritime Faculty Student Dormitory.
Panels featuring significant photographs, writings, and symbols on Turkish maritime history, prepared by Eng. Capt. Refik Akdoğan, a 1948 graduate of the Higher Maritime School (HMS), and commissioned by the İTÜ Maritime Faculty Alumni Social Assistance Foundation (DEFAV), were placed at the İTÜ Maritime Faculty Student Dormitory during a ceremony.
During the organized event, İTÜ Maritime Faculty Vice Dean Prof. Dr. Özcan Arslan, along with İTÜ DEFAV Board President Eng. İlker Meşe, Secretary General Capt. Koray Karagöz, Eng. Süleyman Savaş, Maritime Historian Ali Bozoğlu, and Kayhan Çındemir attended.
Prof. Dr. Özcan Arslan and Eng. İlker Meşe provided information about the emergence of maritime history and paintings to the future mariners, while other guests shared their experiences.
