Donation of a fire tugboat from seafarers

The campaign launched by the ITU Maritime Faculty Alumni Social Assistance Foundation (DEFAV) to provide fire-fighting tugs for areas affected by forest fires has concluded.
Through the donations collected during the campaign, 14 fire-fighting tugs were gifted to the settlements in the Fethiye and Kaş regions affected by fires. Additionally, as part of the campaign, libraries were established in 10 villages.
The fire-fighting tugs were delivered by Eng. İlker Meşe, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of DEFAV, together with Capt. Ahmet Haznedar and Capt. Ramazan Çepel on behalf of the graduates of ITU Maritime Faculty.
In a statement from DEFAV, it was mentioned, “We have completed our fire aid campaign by donating 14 fire-fighting tugs and establishing libraries in 10 villages with the donations we collected. We would like to express our gratitude once again to everyone who supported us and worked tirelessly to ensure their delivery. As the DEFAV Board of Directors, we also extend our respects for the trust you have shown in DEFAV.”
