ITU DEFAV and ITU DEFAMED have issued a second call for assistance for earthquake victims.
Following the earthquake that affected thousands of people in Kahramanmaraş across 10 provinces, the two NGOs initiated a relief campaign. The funds raised will be used to purchase additional generators and container homes to deliver to those in need. This marks the second relief campaign aimed at providing further assistance.
In a statement from the foundation, the following words were used: “On February 6, 2023, we experienced a major earthquake affecting 10 provinces. Our thoughts are with the nation during this difficult time. We extend our condolences to the families of those lost and wish a swift recovery to the injured. The losses are significant, and we are grateful to see everyone doing their best to support those affected. In our initial campaign, we began distributing generators and container homes to those in need. However, it’s clear that more assistance is needed. Therefore, ITU Maritime Faculty Alumni Social Assistance Foundation and ITU Maritime Faculty Alumni Association have decided to launch a second relief campaign. Funds raised will be used to acquire more generators and container homes to distribute to those in need.”
