Visit from Mariners to Binali Yıldırım

İTÜ Maritime Faculty Dean Prof. Dr. Özcan Arslan, along with executives from İTÜ Maritime Faculty Alumni Social Aid Foundation (DEFAV) Capt. Tayfun Sözer and Eng. Adnan Erdal, and İTÜ Maritime Faculty Alumni Association (DEFAMED) Chairman and Turkish P&I General Manager Capt. Ufuk Teker, visited former Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, former Prime Minister, and Deputy Chairman of the AK Party, Binali Yıldırım. Also present during the visit were former Minister of Transport, Maritime Affairs, and Communications Ahmet Arslan, former Director General of Maritime and Inland Waters Regulation Cemalettin Şevli, and UZMAR Experts Maritime Chairman Eng. Ahmet Noyan Altuğ.

During the visit, they provided information to Binali Yıldırım about the current state of the İTÜ Maritime Faculty Binali Yıldırım Student Dormitory, which was constructed with his support during his tenure as Minister of Transport, Maritime Affairs, and Communications. They also discussed the needs of the students residing in the dormitory. Information was shared with Yıldırım regarding the efforts to demolish and reconstruct earthquake-vulnerable buildings of the school. Yıldırım was also invited to traditional events and gatherings held at the school, such as the Fishermen’s Day.
